This is exactly what happened to more than 78,000 Afghan allies in the chaotic withdrawal Of US forces from Afghanistan in August of last year. Most of them had no choice but to leave their loved ones behind. 

Over 10,000 Afghan refugees came to California most of the new arrivals had to leave their loved ones behind.  

Afghan American Muslim Outreach (AAMO) is one of the few Afghans led organizations that has the language capability and the cultural understanding to assist the new arrivals and be their voice.

-In the past year, AAMO has assisted over 2000 refugees in Southern California with immigrations intakes.

-Assisted over 100 newly arrived families with enrolling their children in schools

-Referred many refugees to the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) for legal services

-Conducted over 15 cultural awareness programs. 

-Provided bullying awareness and prevention workshops to over 75 families and school-age children.

-Conducted mental health workshops that included mental health screenings, need assessment, and referred over 30 couple and individual cases to our mental health professionals.

-Launched mentorship program for the youth and their parents to navigate through US school system

-Integrate the newcomers with the community through various social and recreational activities

-Since most of governmental help has been ended, AAMO is striving to educate them how to seek for good paying jobs that fits their skills and educational background.

AAMO hired 3 young, energetic, and talented newcomers to serve the organization and need desperate financial help to not only sustain its staff, but also increase their working hours. AAMO is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization. All donations are tax detectible
